Privacy policy
Effective date: 2026-04-15
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how jpvisa.keydrop.net ("the Site", "we", "us") handles information collected from visitors.
The Site is an informational tool only. We are not a government agency, law firm, or licensed immigration consultant.
2. Information we do not collect
The nationality, purpose of visit, and other input you enter into the visa checker are processed entirely in your browser. This information is never transmitted to, stored by, or accessible to the Site operator.
We do not require account registration and do not collect your name, email address, passport details, or other personally identifiable information ("PII") in order to use the visa checker.
3. Information automatically collected
Our hosting provider (Amazon CloudFront) automatically logs standard HTTP request data including IP address, user agent, referrer, and requested URL for operational and security purposes. These logs are retained for a short period and used only in aggregate.
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP-address anonymisation enabled to understand visitor behaviour. GA4 sets cookies in your browser. Details are available in Google's privacy documentation at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other sites. Google and its partners may use device identifiers and similar technologies for personalised and non-personalised advertising. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com/ or at https://www.aboutads.info/.
4. Cookies
We use cookies strictly for (a) audience measurement (Google Analytics) and (b) advertising (Google AdSense). We do not set marketing, profiling, or behavioural cookies outside of these third-party services.
A consent banner is shown on first visit. Until you grant consent (or if you reject non-essential cookies), the Site signals "denied" to Google Consent Mode v2 so that analytics and advertising cookies are not written.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies / site data for this Site in your browser. The visa checker continues to function regardless of your cookie choice.
5. Third-party services
Third-party services embedded on the Site — Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and any linked-to government websites (e.g. mofa.go.jp) — operate under their own privacy policies. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the data practices of those third parties.
6. Your rights (EEA / UK / California)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect PII directly, requests regarding GA4 or AdSense data should be directed to Google.
For any data that our hosting logs may contain, you can contact us at the address below and we will use reasonable efforts to respond.
7. Children
The Site is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy may be directed to the Site operator via the contact details published on the About page.
